Agoco's first AICV® well in Libya

CCO, Brent Brough stated: “We are proud and excited to have supported Agoco with this first AICV® well in Libya. A big thanks to the team at Agoco, our Libyan partners SmartCompletions and our InflowControl team to help increase net-oil production and reduce the unwanted water”.

Returning a well, which was stopped for 17 years, in the Sarir oil field, to production, The Arabian Gulf Oil Company (Agoco) represented by Libyan engineers from the Reservoir Engineering, Drilling and Production Departments, was able to convert the non-producing well (C309-65), which was classified as an observation well for 17 years in the Sarir oil field, into a productive well with an actual production capacity (1134 barrels of oil per day) and water percentage associated (2.9%) by directed and re-entry drilling and using modern technologies from Kamco and Baker Hughes (VisiTrak).

It is worth noting that, for the first time in North Africa, the latest SMART Completion (AICV) equipment from the Norwegian Company, InflowControl and its partner SmartCompletions Company were used to reduce associated water.

Engineer Muhammad bin Shatwan, Chairman of the Arabian Gulf Oil Company’s Management Committee, extends his sincere thanks and praise to everyone who made an effort to complete this project.
